Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 2007

Christmas Eve was the evening of the 4th Sunday of Advent. That meant very little time to get Advent taken down and Christmas put up!! We made the altar presentation very simple because of the short time.
We used a garland draped behind the cross and hanging to the floor.

Thanksgiving, 2007

This is Thanksgiving and the blessing of the scarves and hats from the St. Clare's Guild.

Fall Flowers - 2007

Here are some other flowers from summer and fall of 2007. I was just beginning to document them with a digital camera. Sorry it's not in calendar order!

The Baptism of our Lord Sunday - January 11, 2009

The Baptism of our Lord Sunday. The font looked like "early spring" in Mississippi with hyacinths, lichen covered sticks, moss, holly fern, and an empty birds nest.

Epiphany - January 6, 2009

All greenery and flowers were finally removed and sent to the burning of the greens. A simple arrangement of dried eucalyptus and sticks was made for the evening service.

2nd Sunday after Christmas - January 4, 2009

On the 2nd Sunday of Christmas, January 4, 2009, we kept the original back drop of greenery and possumhaw on the altar (in the flowers by the yard container) and filled the front of the container with fresh nandina berries. The lectern arrangement was moved to the back of the church. The font flowers were removed and the narthex arrangement remained in place. The wreaths and other greenery remained up.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 2008

Red roses and red amaryllis were used in abundance on the altar. White spray roses were added to the Advent wreath. Greenery, possum haw and carnations were in the window candle arrangements. The narthex arrangement added a pineapple and red apples. The door swags were embellished with flowers. 29 inch mixed greenery wreaths were used in the church. The 29 inch wreath was a great size to use for good proportion.
